The human body is an interesting machine. It’s self-regulating, able to adjust to the unconceivable number of environmental factors at a moment’s notice And it remarkably does this all at an unconscious level. Temperature changes, hormonal shifts, exposure to toxins; none of it matters as our bodies can adapt to survive. Likewise, we must adapt psychologically to the terminal end of the United States for its inevitable demise will come at the hands of its own citizens. Like a group of cells that has metastasized, the cancer of societies ignorance eats away at the roots of our core values despite our greatest efforts to prevent it from spreading. No matter how much we cling onto our idealistic ideas, they are no different than people you’ve met but no longer speak to. They are finite, having a fixed life cycle, and will eventually depart.
The real issue is whether or not we can accept this or not for our own mental health. Just like dealing with the death of a loved one, there comes a point in time where we have to admit the inevitable will happen and we need to let it go, at least for the sake of our brains. This does not mean we don’t lose hope, but it does mean we do not live in delusion either. We must also realize that the United States has been built on a democracy by the people for the people. Everything that is occurring around us is what the people want. Free education, free housing, free benefits…..but these freedoms have come at a cost to many people are unaware of. At some point we will examine these costs but take solace in that we did the best that we could.
We voted…we were active in our societies…we asked for freedom…we performed our civic duties. This was all we could have done. Now with more government regulation, any economic opportunity for hard workers has vanished. The error we make though is that we blame ourselves for failing our dreams when in reality life is outside of our control. The inability to do what we want are merely social violations indicative of things to come as the government continues to grow and the individual begins to shrink.
The key to this reality is to simply “let it go” and realize we are one in 327 million people. And it isn’t the state as much as the stupidity of the other 326,999,999 Americans. You by your lonesome self, no matter how right you may be in your thought and how correct you may be in your actions….you cannot overcome such odds and will have to suffer the consequence of the majority’s cognitive dissonance. In acknowledging this you can enjoy your life a bit more.
